About 2048
The game starts with two small tiles on a four by four grid. Each time you slide, a new 2 or 4 appears in an empty square. Merging two 2s makes a 4, two 4s make an 8, and so on, doubling all the way up to 2048. The board fills quickly, and if no move is possible the game ends.
The original 2048 was released as an open source project in 2014 and became one of the most played browser puzzles ever. This version keeps the classic rules and adds swipe controls for phones. Your best score is saved in your browser so you can try to beat it tomorrow.
